[more…]I heard about Gaithersburg Help from a friend during the pandemic. I am so grateful to the service because I have a child with disabilities, and I do not work. Gaithersburg Help is very organized, I do not have to wait in line to receive food, and I can count on the products given. When chicken is provided, that is the only time we eat it because it is too expensive to buy. We rely on canned goods to stretch meals, and we value the oatmeal provided.
The circumstances are that in this economy, it’s been hard paying bills and getting enough work. The food Gaithersburg HELP gives has been extremely useful in helping us out in these times.
Before, we both worked, now only my husband works. It is hard to pay rent and bills. It had been a while since we got food and diapers from Gaithersburg HELP, but now food is more expensive, and it’s getting harder to pay for everything, so I called again.
I am a veteran and my disability ran out. It took a year and a half to get it back. During that time my social worker recommended Gaithersburg HELP so that is how I got started. Thanks for the new info about transportation, which I will ask for when I need it.
Being on social security disability and with a very low income, I had to decide whether to get food or get my medications. Thanks to you I no longer have to make that terrible decision. Thank you!
My husband lost his job, and we are having trouble paying rent. I started looking for other ways to help, and I found that we could get food from Gaithersburg HELP and save money that way. We didn’t have milk, eggs, and other things. The food we get from you has been like an unexpected gift, a surprise, and it makes me emotional thinking about how grateful we are for all that you do for us.
For me, it’s the best pantry I’ve ever visited and they give you good stuff! They are so organized. They are also very pleasant.
Gaithersburg HELP is an all-volunteer organization that provides basic needs assistance to people and families in the Gaithersburg area. We work right here in our own community and can respond quickly to give timely help for vital services.
